About

This is a project that has been on my mind for a few years now: an interpersonal project in the style of Humans of New York's (HONY) man-on-the-street photography. I love hearing people's stories and as a journalism student I love recording them.

I believe that we can learn fascinating and unusual things by listening for lessons in others' experiences.
Everyone is an "everyday expert" to some capacity, having one or more fields of interest that they research informally or formally.

This blog records these kinds of stories, featuring wisdom from different "fields" found in unlikely places or circumstances through unlikely people. What can students teach their professors? What can the homeless population teach those of us who are comfortably-housed? What insight might tourists have to offer about their home countries?

Come explore and learn something new, and may we never stop learning!

This is meant to be a dynamic, interactive project. You have 3 options for participation:
1. Comment!
2. Suggest a person whose story should be featured here!
3. Submit your own story of UnConventional Wisdom!
